It's a word you hear a lot that may not always have the clearest explanation. And while it's often defined as: "the characteristic taste and flavor imparted to a food by the environment in which it is produced" what does that really mean? Well, on Thursday August 21st we intend to have a little fun - and several bottles of wine open - to dig a little deeper into this concept!
Join us will be none other than Meredith Sutch, sommelier with Tavolo Vigneto. With a focus on Italian wines, we'll be exploring different wine varietals and pairing them with other foods (i.e. olive oil, balsamic vinegar, cheeses, meats, etc) to get an actual "taste" of the place! Join us to see just how these wines and dishes interact to contrast and compliment each other, and how they have become well known the whole world round!
The pairings we have selected for this event are scheduled to include:
Manicardi Fabula Brut Rosé NV – Emilia-Romagna A vibrant sparkling rosé with delicate notes of red berries and rose petals. Paired with the iconic Balsamic of Modena, this duo captures the elegance and depth of Emilia-Romagna’s culinary heritage.
Assuli Inzolia “Carinda” Sicilia DOC 2023 – Sicily Fresh and aromatic, this white wine offers hints of citrus and Mediterranean herbs. It’s beautifully complemented by Sicilian Olive Oil or a splash of Calamansi Vinegar, enhancing its coastal brightness.
Assuli Nero d’Avola Sicilia DOC 2021 – Sicily Rich and expressive, this classic Sicilian red showcases dark fruit and spice. Paired with Sicilian Olive Oil, it reflects the bold character of the island’s sun-drenched vineyards.
Badia di Morrona I Sodi del Paretaio Chianti DOCG 2023 –A lively Chianti with notes of cherry, violet, and savory herbs. Tuscan Olive Oil brings out its rustic charm, echoing the region’s timeless flavors and traditions.
Poderi Garona Boca DOC 2016 – Alto Piemonte Elegant and age-worthy, this Nebbiolo-based wine offers layers of forest fruit, earth, and minerality. Paired with Porcini Olive Oil, it evokes the alpine woods and culinary depth of northern Italy.
If you'd like to come along for this culinary exploration and enjoy some great Italian wines from the portfolio of Tavolo Vigneto we hope you'll sign up soon! Tickets are just $35/person and - sadly - seating is limited. So don't wait too long to gather your fellow foodies to reserve your seats for this event on August 21st!
Note: If you'd like to be seated with another group who has signed up seperately, we'd be grateful if you inform us a day or two prior to the event. This really helps us out when it comes to planning the seating arraignment.
Refund Policy: If notified 72 hours or more before the event we are happy to provide guests with a full refund of your ticket price (Eventbrite will not refund any fees). If you should need to cancel in less than 72 hours, we can either roll your tickets over into a different event or offer you a store credit for the ticket price (which will not include Eventbrite fees). Feel free to contact us with any questions.
