“UNKNOWN COUNTRY” by artist Emily Kretschmer

“UNKNOWN COUNTRY” by artist Emily Kretschmer opens at the 410 PROJECT, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 5, from 7-9 pm.

UNKNOWN COUNTRY features a series of new gel plate prints on paper and tissue, “Flags of Unknown Countries,” as well as new and recent abstract artwork on canvas and wood panel. This exhibition is an expression of my concern about the deterioration of democratic governance and the erosion of hard-won freedom in our country. It also embodies my search for faith in the power of art to sustain and transform us individually and collectively.

Emily Kretschmer is a fiscal year 2025 recipient of a Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund
