Join our LiboRisk ambassador, Andrew Walters, and other LiboRisks for this hike!
Let’s take on one of Colorado’s most iconic physical and mental challenges: The Manitou Incline — 2,768 steps straight up, gaining over 1,900 feet in elevation in under a mile.
🏔️ WHY JOIN?
- Because growth happens outside.
- Outside your comfort zone. Outside your usual environment. Outside the damn house.
- This event is all about community, challenge, and conquering something hard — together.
✅ WHAT TO BRING:
- Water (and lots of it!)
- Good hiking or trail running shoes
- Canned oxygen if you're coming from sea level
- Light layers – it starts cool and heats up quick
- Optional but encouraged: flags, unit patches, or something to represent your journey.
⚠️ KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:
- This hike is tough. No shame in pacing yourself or taking breaks.
- Altitude is real — hydrate and fuel up the night before.
- We’ll group up before and after for accountability and to ensure everyone gets up (and down) safely.
🛡️ SAFETY + LOGISTICS:
- Manitou Springs is a safe, tourism-heavy town with low crime rates and stable political conditions.
- Natural hazards include high altitude, dehydration, and potential weather shifts — we’ll monitor conditions and adapt as needed.
- Closest hospital: UCHealth Grandview Hospital (20 min away)
- Emergency: Dial 911
- Cell service is available on most of the route.
- Parking is limited — carpool if you can. We recommend arriving no later than 0730 to secure a spot or use the free shuttle from the Iron Springs Chateau.
