The St. Jude runners will leave St. Louis on Friday, August 1, at approximately 5:30 a.m. This group of people will run relay-style, day and night until they arrive in Peoria on Saturday, August 2, in the afternoon. The runners are from Manito, Pekin, Peoria, East Peoria, and the St. Louis areas. The runners representing Manito are Amber Bernshausen, Jennifer Dill, Alexa Kerley, Eliza Kerley, and Krissy Wolfe!!! 💪
Once the runners have arrived at the south end of town, they will run into Manito as a group and stop at Emmanuel's Warehouse. *Again, time varies depending on the runners' schedule. If needed, this event time will be updated the day of.* This stop is sponsored by Country General (Jason and Erika Hunter), Nina Wooding & family, and the Kerley family in celebration of Katlyn Wooding. There will be can shakers in the middle of the road as well as under the tent. Your donation is tax deductible. If you choose to write a check please make payable to ST. JUDE. 100% of every dollar goes directly to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
From this stop, the runners will continue to the Forman Fire Department (Station #1) in Manito for lunch around 10:00 a.m. Market St from Adams/blacktop to Broadway will be closed during this time. This lunch is for the runners and those helping with the run. The runners will also be treated to shaved ice by Mandie's Snow Shack (John & Debbie Bernshausen and Mandie Darsham).
After lunch, the runners will continue to Peoria to present the money that they have raised to St. Jude at the telethon which is aired on WEEK News 25.
The runners always appreciate the warm welcome they receive from the communities that they run through. We hope to see you on Saturday, August 2, around 9:30 a.m. at Emmanuel's Warehouse in Manito.
