This interactive workshop introduces Subaltern Linguistics as a grassroots, community-engaged approach to language-focused projects. Rather than treating language as an abstract system, subaltern linguistics emphasizes practice over theory, using socio-semiotics to address real-world needs in economics, environment, health, and education.
Participants will explore how language operates as a semogenic system, a socio-semiotic inheritance, a science, and a complex-dynamic system. Through case studies and collaborative activities, we will examine how this framework can be applied to design sustainable, community-driven projects.
