Stephane Wrembel’s Django New Orleans Returns to Dizzy’s Club for 8 Shows
Thursday, Oct 30, Friday, Oct 30 and Saturday, November 1 @ 7:00 and 9:00 p.m.
Sunday, November 2 @ 5:00 and 7:30 p.m.
Acclaimed guitarist and composer Stephane Wrembel—renowned for his original music in Midnight in Paris and Vicky Cristina Barcelona—returns to Dizzy’s Club with his 9-piece ensemble, Django New Orleans, for eight unforgettable performances. This run celebrates the upcoming release of Django New Orleans II: Hors Série, the follow-up to their critically praised 2023 debut.
Blending the rich traditions of New Orleans brass with the fiery spirit of Django Reinhardt’s “Jazz Manouche,” Django New Orleans reimagines timeless classics with thrilling new energy. Hors Série features two original compositions by Wrembel, including his debut as a vocalist, adding new layers to the group’s already expansive sound.
Expect everything from soulful swing to jubilant second lines. As Jason Olaine, V.P. of programming of Jazz at Lincoln Center, writes, “Django New Orleans is a down-home party meets a high-end listening experience… the best of both worlds.”
Join us for a night of genre-bending celebration—where gypsy jazz meets the Crescent City in spectacular style.
