Gardening workshop- Ways with Weeds with Judy Keats.

Join Judy for this W**d foraging workshop to become familiar with beneficial and noxious weeds and learn how they can contribute to your soil fertility and your health. There will be a focus on W**d ID, edible and medicinal properties, strategies for W**d elimination and noxious W**d processing methods.

In this interactive composting workshop, you’ll discover how to turn your food scraps and garden waste into rich, living soil that feeds your garden and reduces waste. Great if you're new to composting or want to deepen your knowledge, this is an opportunity to build practical skills for a more sustainable lifestyle. This is a hands on workshop, we will build a compost heap and cover worm farming and Bokashi.
Gardening workshop- Growing through the seasons with Judy Keats. Sat 4 October - 2-4pm
Join Judy to discover simple and effective techniques for increasing production in your home gardens. Judy will cover crop selection for the summer months and timing of planting for best results. Her emphasis will be on regenerative methods for building soil fertility through polycropping and green manure crops.
- Location: The workshop will be held at The Mangawhai Community Garden, Mangawhai Domain.
- A share table: Bring along any plants, seeds, seedlings, gardening books, magazines or tools you no longer - need. You're welcome to take anything that others have brought, just remember to take home anything you brought that isn't picked up.
- Shared kai: After the workshop, we’ll gather for a shared afternoon tea. Please bring something to share. We encourage low waste options. Thank you!
- What to bring: Sturdy shoes or gum boots for the garden, gardening gloves and a water bottle.
- Price: $30 per workshop or book all three for $85
