Jan. 12, 6:00 PM- 7:30PM. Northlake Nature Center.
“Keeping a journal is the single most powerful way to enhance your nature observation, memory, curiosity and appreciation of nature. Do not worry about drawing pretty pictures. The goal is to come more deeply alive through attending to the beauty and wonder of the world.” John Muir Laws
Join us for an Introduction to Nature Journaling, presented by Certified Louisiana Master Naturalist Alicia Barnes. In this workshop, we'll learn the basics of nature journaling as well as go through a few journaling exercises. Nature journaling is simply a method of observation; you do not need to be an artist to attend!
Bring a journal, notebook or sketchpad, as well as your favorite drawing/coloring/sketching tool of choice! There is limited bench seating in the pavilion; you can bring your own chair if you choose.
This program will take place at the Northlake Nature Center's pavilion. This event will be rescheduled if the forecasted temperature is below 45 degrees, or if there is rain in the forecast. The decision to reschedule will be made no later than 4:00 PM Saturday, January 10th.
Accessibility: The parking lot of the Northlake Nature Center is gravel, and there is a portalet for restrooms. The path leading to the pavilion from the parking lot is a ground-level boardwalk followed by maintained brick.
