The 6th International Sustainability Summit is a one-day gathering that brings together innovators, community leaders, and experts from the Philippines and around the world. Held on October 1, 2025, at JRU, the summit explores how we can create real, local change through systems thinking, community collaboration, and sustainable innovation.
This year’s theme, “Innovation for Sustainability: Building a Thriving Future for All”, highlights the urgency of addressing climate change, ocean health, and inclusive development. The program features powerful sessions on topics such as waste systems, coastal resilience, youth leadership, and food security, especially focusing on challenges faced by fishing communities.
Speakers include leaders from Japan, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Canada, and the Philippines, including experts in marine science, banking, education, and indigenous knowledge systems.
The summit is part of a larger movement that includes the Plog the Planet Parade, a national cleanup action happening just days before. Participants from both events are united in their goal to co-create a more sustainable and equitable Philippines.
