About the event

Widows' Windows: A widow support group for the holidays
Welcome! This support group is dedicated to creating a safe and empathetic space where the loneliness and profound loss of self felt after the death of a spouse are never dismissed—they are fully acknowledged.

We recognize that great things can still happen, even after such a catastrophic life change. Our discussions and activities are designed to offer hope and encouragement by focusing on key pathways to healing:

Journaling to help process the raw emotions of grief, quell anger, and find comfort.

The essential journey of re-finding a source of unconditional love and establishing a renewed sense of self-worth.

Opening our hearts to peace by learning to recognize everyday blessings and acknowledging a higher power in our lives.

This is a confidential and non-judgmental community where you can share your journey, find support, and connect with others who understand. You are not alone.

About the Host: Judy Towne Jennings
Judy Towne Jennings, a resident of Manchester, has recently published her inspiring latest book, The Wonderful Widowhood World, If You Give Friendship With God a Try.

Jenning's book tackles the often-dismissed loneliness and loss of self that many widowed seniors experience. She offers a powerful assertion: great things can still happen, even after the death of a spouse. Through themes designed to offer hope and encouragement following a catastrophic life change, she highlights key pathways to healing:

Journaling emotions of grief can help quell anger and bring comfort.

Re-finding a source of unconditional love is necessary for emotional health.

Giving God credit for everyday miracles opens the heart to peace.

Ms. Jennings brings a wealth of knowledge to her writing, holding a physical therapy degree from the University of Iowa and a Master's degree from Mt. St. Joseph in Cincinnati.

Her first book, Living with Lewy Body Dementia, One Caregiver's Personal, In-Depth Experience, has already touched and supported caregivers worldwide.

The Wonderful Widowhood World (ISBN: 9781959623724) is available for purchase at Booklocker and Amazon.
