This documentary is an adrenaline-filled journey into the world of graffiti writing through the eyes of GECO, one of the most prolific writers in Europe.
Through never-before-seen images, the film takes us through the streets and up to the highest peaks of Rome (and beyond), retracing the key moments of the absurd manhunt of which the artist was the protagonist. His identification in Rome in 2020 unleashed an unprecedented media storm, dividing public opinion and reigniting the debate on the very concept of art.
Who decides what is art and what is vandalism?
THE ART OF DISOBEDIENCE is an invitation to look beyond appearances, to discover the power of disobedience and to question the meaning of freedom.
I'm excited to announce we will have a live set from Chilla Ninja, head of Manchester based hip hop label "Legacy Echo Records" before the film. So get down early to hear some of the labels trade mark beats.
