Last year, Sister opened the doors to its first space - the iconic Renold Building in Manchester. This wasn’t just a renovation; it was a reimagination. Sustainability was woven into every decision - from repurposed university furniture to modular, flexible design features that allow the space to evolve with its community.

Now, we’re inviting you to step inside and explore the future of sustainable innovation firsthand.

Through our unique partnership, we’ve been testing groundbreaking ideas in real time. Why? Because innovators in the built environment - especially those working with sustainable materials - face enormous barriers to scale. The industry is highly regulated, risk-averse, and often resistant to change.

But what happens when we pool our resources, networks, and ambition to change that?

Together, Sustainable Ventures, Sister and Barclays have supported more than 15 pioneering companies, including Dekiln, Wull Technologies, and earth4earth, to install and trial their sustainable material innovations across the Renold Building. At this event, you’ll get hands-on with the materials, explore the space, and meet the entrepreneurs shaping the next generation of climate tech.

This is more than a showcase - it's a blueprint for how regional and national collaboration can accelerate innovation and decarbonisation in the built environment.

We’re also thrilled to share that this marks the official opening of conclusion of our fit out, and we will be officially launching the Sustainable Ventures Manchester hub, powered by investment from Barclays. This marks a major milestone in expanding our support for climate tech in the North - starting with sustainable materials in commercial property.
