Precision brass machining with the manual lathe

In this four hour, members-only class, you will learn advanced lathing and build a small brass "salute" cannon to take home.

• Setup tricks & machining parts on the lathe
• practice cutting brass with the manual lathe
• machine different materials. feel how they cut with different tools.
• Put theory into practice as you build a small cannon.

Time permitting, students will also produce a wooden sled, and may choose to continue on to build and assemble a full carriage, as shown in the lead-in photo.
