About the event

MJM Evening Talks: Jewish Women and Women’s Rights: A collaboration with The Pankhurst Museum
Join The Pankhurst Centre and Manchester Jewish Museum as they come together to present an evening devoted to Jewish Suffragettes and Jewish women’s experiences.

How far were Jewish women part of the struggle for Votes for Women? And what about today – is there still work to be done?

Hear from Poppy Beswick of the Pankhurst Centre as she uncovers the remarkable stories of Jewish Suffragettes, followed by reflections from Dr Sherry Ashworth. The evening will conclude with a lively panel discussion featuring Rabbi Robyn Ashworth-Steen and Esty Bruck from the Friendship Circle.

This thought-provoking event will feature talks and a panel discussion exploring the role of Jewish women in the suffrage movement and their continuing influence on modern feminism.
