The Manchester Choral Society (MCS) invites singers from across the region to take part in an Open Rehearsal on Monday, January 26, at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, Manchester, NH. This open rehearsal marks the first gathering for an exciting spring collaboration and offers interested singers a chance to experience MCS firsthand.
This season (our 65th), MCS will join forces with the Seacoast-based ensemble Portsmouth Pro Musica (PPM) for a major choral-orchestral project featuring Franz Schubert’s "Mass in E-flat" and Felix Mendelssohn’s "Psalm 42." Performances will bring together more than 80 singers, professional soloists, and a full orchestra.
Manchester Choral Society Music Director Dan Perkins and Portsmouth Pro Musica Music Director Priscilla French will share the podium for this collaborative effort, uniting two respected New Hampshire choral organizations in a dynamic musical partnership.
Singers interested in joining the ensemble are encouraged to attend the Open Rehearsal and should register for a voice screening through the MCS website at www.mcsnhg.org. Rehearsals will be held weekly on Monday evenings, leading up to performances in May 2026 at Ste. Marie Parish in Manchester and Oyster River Middle School in Durham.
No prior commitment is required to attend the Open Sing. All interested singers are welcome.
