Flameworking 101

Intro to Flameworking with Ed Hastings

If you've always been curious about flameworked glass, but been nervous about the torches (because, you know, fire!), this is a perfect course to get you started! Enjoy small group instruction in a safe, organized space with great lighting and ventilation. This is also a great opportunity for jewelry artists to get into beadmaking!

We will provide all the materials you need on the first night to get the hang of working on the torch, and you'll be able to use a lot of our equipment throughout the class. The instructor will show you what to shop for in our store; depending on your chosen projects, you could spend as little as ten dollars on glass!

You will gain a hands-on knowledge of working safely with a torch and flameworking tools to bend and manipulate glass into shapes. Focus in 101 is beads and embellishments. Learn about the glass and the never-ending possibilities of creating with it. This 5-week class allows for some freedom to tailor instruction to student interest.
