Keisha Strand

Keisha grew up visiting her local library in Richmond, VA to attend programs and gained a love for reading. She volunteered for the system when she was in high school, and eventually worked as an administrative assistant for the Fairfax County Public Library system. Her experience in the public library setting inspired her to want to write for kids to create more diversity in books. In January 2023, she self-published her first book "I Need A Friend" inspired by her two children. She published her second book, "What If We Went?...", in 2024.

Wesley and the River Run: Wesley has been dreaming of getting a gleaming River Run trophy for the past four year, and now the big day is hear. But as the race begins, Wesley quickly realizes that things aren't as they sem. While the other kids race ahead with their well-prepared gear, Wesley faces challenges that make him question the fairness of it all. With Rocky currents and unexpected obstacles testing his every move, Wesley must rely on his wits and determination to find a way through.

Marc DeAngelo

Written by a high school social worker for Prince William County Schools who has learning disabilities, Marc has written a book about overcoming obstacles and using the resources you've been given to achieve your goals. All set to a gripping adventure story about 11yr old Wesley and his friends competing in their town's annual River Run Challenge. In addition to being a school social worker Marc has had a 20+ year career as a musician in the Northern Virginia area with nine CDs to his credit.
