KWA's Green River Fun Float and Paddle (rescheduled)

Kentucky Waterways Alliance, Seaguar, Mammoth Cave National Park, KY Energy and Environment Cabinet, ORSANCO, Adventures of Mammoth Cave, Stantec, Republic Bank, the National Wildlife Federation, Saint Matthews Episcopal Church, and Garner Narrative thank you for registering for the Summer 2025 Green River Fun Float and Paddle! We are excited to see you. This event will see volunteers enjoying a day of paddling between Dennison Ferry and the Green River Ferry in areas surrounding Mammoth Cave National Park. As an added bit of fun (and friendly competition), volunteers will be encouraged to collect any litter they see while on the river, with the paddlers who collect the most trash receiving prizes! We recommend wearing bright colors for visibility and safety. Additionally, make sure to wear conformable clothing and safe shoes for being in and out of the water during the paddle.

NOTE: this event has been graciously funded by our sponsors in coordination with Mammoth Cave Adventures. Due to the nature of this event, there are limited kayaks available for use. If you sign up for a spot you MUST be present on the day of the event. If you need to cancel, please reach out to KWA staff no later than Monday September, 29th 2025 so that others have an opportunity to use any available spots.

Info: Everyone participating in this event is required to attend check in at the Mammoth Cave Picnic Area for waiver signing, safety instructions, and grouping up prior to the first shuttle leaving towards Dennison Ferry.

Info: Because of shuttle seats, there will be 2-3 total shuttles to get participants and their boats to the launch site at Dennison Ferry. Each shuttle ride will take approximately 20 minutes.

Info: Once participants are safely on the water, they will paddle/float from Dennison Ferry to Green River Ferry, coving roughly 7 miles of riverway. We are encouraging our participants to enjoy the beautiful scenery, engage in thoughtful conversation, and grab any trash they see along the way! All participants MUST be out of the water at the Green River Ferry NO LATER than 4:00pm.

Info: When participants arrive back at the Mammoth Cave Picnic Area, there will be an opportunity for pictures, free food, and the awarding of our "weirdest item" contest! Participants should expect to be back at their vehicles and free to head out no later than 5:00pm.
