Cooking to Grow
The Cooking to Grow program is an 8 week program for Middle School students (11-14 years old) where they will learn to cook and eat healthy foods under adult supervision at the CRC, Each week children will prepare and then eat a meal using healthy foods with fresh ingredients such as avocados, beans, rice, vegetables, flour, corn flour, and rice, and pasta. All ingredients will be provided by the CRC as well as any necessary cooking implements. This program has been created by nutritionists and cooks and will be based on ingredients that are locally available. They will leave with the recipes and grocery list for each meal they prepare.
This program is being sponsored by the Rotary Club of Larchmont, a social and social action club where members support each other and the community with meaningful and fun activities. Rotary co-created the Cooking to Grow program based on a request from the CRC.
