🌸 Girls in Math: Problem Solving
Join Orlando Math Circle for Girls in Math, a special class designed to help girls in grades 3–5 and 6-8 to build confidence, creativity, and joy through math problem-solving.
In this session, students will explore fun and engaging math challenges that encourage logical thinking and collaboration.
Multiple solution strategies:
The class creates a supportive and empowering environment where girls are encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, and discover that math can be both challenging and enjoyable.
Times:
Girls In Math - (Grades 3-5) 6:00-6:45 PM
Girls In Math - (Grades 6-8) 6:45-7:30 PM
👩🏫 About the Instructor
Sharanya is an alumna of Orlando Math Circle and a student at Columbia University, where she studies Computer Engineering and Mathematics.
As part of her OMC high school capstone projects, Sharanya co-founded the Counting and Probability course for girls and an introductory Python interactive class for elementary students.
Her accomplishments include:
🏅 Gold Medalist at the MathCON National Finals
🏆 National rank holder in Math Kangaroo
📐 Three-time qualifier for the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME)
🔬 Selected researcher in the OMC–UF research program at the UF School of Medicine Systems Laboratory
With over three years of teaching experience, Sharanya brings both expertise and a passion for empowering young girls through mathematics.
