Blessing of the Animals

Invite your friends and neighbors and bring your well-behaved pets (or pictures of your skittish ones) as we celebrate the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. Blessings and collar medals will be given to every pet. We will also accept donations of cash, checks, and/or pet supplies for the Stray Love Foundation, the Magnolia Springs-based non-profit cat rescue group. The tradition honors Saint Francis, the patron saint of animals and the environment, and celebrates the bond between humans and animals as part of God's creation. The services thank God for the joy animals bring and promote stewardship and kindness toward all living creatures.
