The Pharisees were passionate about their faith. They knew Scripture, followed the rules, and took God seriously. But when Jesus stood right in front of them, they missed him.

In this six-week teaching series at Madison Church, "The Pharisee in Me," we’ll take an honest look in the mirror. This isn’t about judgment or shame—it’s about recognizing the subtle ways we fall into religious traps that keep us from truly following Jesus.

Each week, we’ll walk through real interactions between Jesus and the Pharisees, uncovering how we sometimes: 1. Know the right things but don’t live them; 2. Cling to rules and lose the relationship; 3. Judge others while ignoring our own blind spots; 4. Perform faith publicly while neglecting our private life; 5. Read the Bible but miss Jesus; and 6. Try harder, but miss the grace that actually changes us

This series is for anyone who’s tired of going through the motions… who’s hungry for more than religion… who’s ready to trade performance for presence and pride for humility.
