An Evening of Opera, Fire, and Folklore
Step into a world where music and myth meet on the shores of Lake Mendota. Fresco Opera’s Opera on the Point transforms Picnic Point into a stage of firelight, storytelling, and song. Audiences gather around a roaring bonfire as we bring to life the spirits said to inhabit the woods and water. Witches, dryads, water spirits, and the mysterious orbs of light that drift along the peninsula.
A One-of-a-Kind Madison Experience
Opera on the Point is more than a performance. It’s an immersive journey into folklore. Each aria and ensemble piece blends with the natural setting, as if the creatures themselves have stepped out of the forest to share their stories. Equal parts eerie and enchanting, the show blurs the line between reality and legend, creating an atmosphere you can’t experience anywhere else.
