Madison Jazz Orchestra

It’s that time again! The Madison Jazz Orchestra performs in the cozy confines of Cafe CODA at 1224 Williamson Street on Madison’s near east side.

This month we celebrate Melba Liston’s 100th birthday with a few of her charts for Dizzy Gillespie’s and Art Blakey’s big bands [with whom she also played trombone]. Other January birthdays that we’ll be observing include Gene Krupa [117], Roy Eldridge [115] and Django Reinhardt [116]. There will also be charts from Duke Ellington, Gordon Goodwin, Thad Jones and Rob McConnell among others.

Cafe CODA is an excellent place to listen to great live music, and the cover charge is only $15. Come check it out!
