Join us for an unforgettable evening of straight-ahead, blues-oriented jazz with the Mac Earleywine Quartet. This dynamic ensemble brings together four of Madison’s most exciting young musicians, each offering their own vibrant voice to create a sound that is both tender and lively. Expect animated harmonies, soulful improvisation, and a groove-driven energy that will keep you engaged from the first note to the last.
Mac Earleywine – Piano
A vibrant blues-influenced pianist, vocalist, bandleader, and educator, Mac has been immersed in music for over half his life. A volunteer educator with Hanah Jon Taylor’s Cool School program at Cafe Coda, Mac also serves on the Madison Jazz Society board and contributes to booking and marketing at the club. Recently invited as a guest conductor with the Madison Symphony Orchestra, this high school senior is already carving a path toward becoming a band director and professional musician.
Cayden Jones – Tenor Saxophone
Deeply inspired by Coltrane, Kenny Garrett, and Charlie Parker, Cayden brings a rich, intense saxophone voice to the group. His Quintet has performed at Jazz at Five, and he was chosen as one of just twenty musicians for the WSMA State Honors Jazz Ensemble—a nationally recognized group that showcases top high school jazz talent.
Stan Brueske – Drums
One of Madison’s busiest drummers, Stan’s versatility spans jazz and punk. After earning a jazz percussion degree from UW-Madison, he toured the Midwest and now stays active with projects such as the Charlie Painter Trio and the alternative venue The Signal. He also records and performs with several punk bands, demonstrating his rhythmic power and stylistic range.
Tobin Shea – Bass
Rooted in the tradition of jazz bass greats like Mingus, Dave Holland, and Charlie Haden, Tobin delivers thick, groove-oriented basslines that ground the quartet’s sound. A dedicated student of the upright bass, he holds a residency with the Mineral Point City Band and regularly performs around Madison.
Together, these four musicians create a musical journey that blends passion, groove, and spontaneity—promising a night of jazz that feels fresh, soulful, and alive.
