Art and Memory - October

Each booking comprises of two seats – one for you and one for your family member living with dementia – for an enjoyable, safe and social experience that employs artwork to trigger conversation.

Participants in Art and Memory will arrive at 10am and have a cuppa and bite to eat, before taking a closer look at two selected artworks.

It’s not an art theory lesson, you don’t need prior art knowledge or a passion for art. The aim of this specialised program is for gallery staff to help you take the time to look at artworks and notice features and themes. What you see in the works will trigger thoughts, ideas and memories, and always generates relaxing and enjoyable discussion.

Seats strictly limited, BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL. (please note that if you arrive on the day without a booking, staff may not be able to include you in the session)

IMPORTANT - Please carefully read the terms and conditions before making a booking:

• All program attendees must be in good health prior to attending the session (eg. no runny noses, coughs, temperatures). If any of the attendees booked in feel unwell, please cancel your booking to enable another to use the vacant spot.

• Carefully consider your availability to attend the event BEFORE making your booking. Booking cancellations - especially late cancellations - can mean that we may not be able to fill that place, rendering it a lost opportunity for another community member.

• A reminder notification will be sent 24 hours prior to the program. If you are unable to attend, please cancel through Eventbrite, or contact Artspace Mackay ASAP on 4961 9722 to advise so they may remove you from the list manually.

• Photography Permission: Please be aware that all programs may be filmed and posted to Artspace Mackay website and Facebook page to provide access to those unable to attend the session. Filming will focus on the presenter but may include attendees. Do not attend if you do not wish to be filmed.

• By making a booking you agree to all the above.
