Please note: Check-in for Ranch Academy is from 3PM-5PM Wednesday night. This is so we get a ride on Wednesday night. Earlier drop-off is allowed for return participants--they know the drill on tent set up, etc.
We are excited to be hosting the 3 day, 3 night Cavvietta Ranch Academy this summer. This is for girls aged 10-17. These young cowgirls will work on horsemanship and stockmanship skills. There will be time spent fishing and sitting around the campfire exchanging cowboy stories. Participants should be ready to pitch a tent and come hungry for cowboy grub on this 3 day/3 night stay on rolling green pastures in Elm City, NC. Girls may bring their own mounts or use one from our cavvy! Participants MUST come willing to learn! We supply dinner Wednesday, breakfast/lunch/dinner on Thursday and Friday, breakfast on Saturday. Snacks throughout the day are also provided. If weather and schedule permits, we will ride Wednesday once, Thurssday twice, and Friday twice.
What to bring:
A tent/sleeping bag/pillow/flashlight/toiletries
If you are wanting to use electricity, please bring long extension cords and splitters. Power is not guaranteed.
Appropriate sleepwear for weather
Cowboy attire for picture day & to keep out of the sun!
Rain wear, because this is rain or shine
Jeans to work and ride in
Helmet (or a signed waiver from guardian excusing the helmet)
Long sleeve shirts to work and ride in (button-downs recommended)
A cowboy hat or ball cap that stays on your head in windy conditions
Bug spray/sunscreen
Fly spray for horse
Boots with a heel that are narrow enough to fit in stirrup
Refillable insulated Water bottle or canteen (THIS IS IMPORTANT!)
Bathing suit and a tee shirt/shorts
Fishing pole
Musical instruments if you play
Horse, grain, hay, bedding, and tack if bringing your own horse
*We will likely have a photographer, so make sure to bring something western fancy for the photos!
Participants should be self-sufficient catching, grooming, saddling, and riding their horse. Participants should be able to walk, jog, lope, stop, and back their horse with confidence. The camp is rain or shine. No refunds. No exchanges. Please note: we might travel offsite during this camp. Should we change venues within a 2 hour radius, tickets are still non-refundable.
