10 Year Anniversary Hike – Virginia Chapter – Humpback Rocks Loop

Join us for a special 52 Hike Challenge 10 Year Anniversary Hike with the Virginia Chapter at Humpback Rocks! We'll be tackling the scenic Humpback Rocks Loop trail, taking in breathtaking views and celebrating a decade of outdoor adventures together. When: Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 10:00 AM. We will meet at the trailhead parking area, look for us near the trailhead wearing 52 Hike Challenge Shirts!

Skill Level: Moderate. Approximately 4.2 miles with 1200 feet of elevation gain. It takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete, but we will plan to spend time at the summit and take the hike slow, so please allow 3.5 – 4 hours.

Be sure to wear adequate clothing and sunscreen and bring at least 3L of water, along with snacks and electrolytes. As always, please pack your 10 essentials for safety reasons!

Parking & Address: Humpback Rocks Trailhead Parking. Blue Ridge Parkway Milepost 5.8, Waynesboro, VA 22980. From Interstate 64 you want to take the Blue Ridge Parkway south until you see the entrance to the Humpback Rocks parking lot on your left. The parking lot will be on your right if you are coming north. This extremely popular trailhead has limited parking and is usually packed on weekends. Additional parking is available at the nearby Humpback Rocks Visitor Center and Mountain Farm 0.2 miles north. Park at the visitor center and walk through the farm, out the back fence, up the hill across the Parkway, and pick up the trails in the trailhead parking lot.
