Share Your Time and Curiosity—Volunteer at the Maier! Attend this no-obligation information session to learn more about getting involved.
Are you looking for a meaningful way to connect with your community while deepening your understanding of American art and history? The Maier Museum of Art is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join our team—and there are two great ways to get involved.
Become a Docent
Docents help visitors make meaning of the works of art on view. As volunteer tour leaders, they facilitate interactive, engaging tours for school-age children, families, and adults. If you enjoy conversation, exploration, and inspiring others to look closely, this role offers a rewarding way to share your love of art.
Serve as a Receptionist and Event Volunteer
Receptionists are the face of the Maier, creating a warm welcome for everyone who walks through our doors. They greet visitors, answer questions, and provide general information. Two-hour shifts are available Friday through Sunday between 1-5 pm. Opportunities to volunteer during public events are also available.
No matter which role you choose, our volunteers are at the heart of what makes the Maier a friendly, engaging, and community-centered space.
