Join EMMY-nominated writer Mike Garley this Halloween to develop your comic-making skills as part of this year’s Play on Words Festival. In this fun, beginner-friendly session, you’ll discover how characters and stories combine to bring your very own comic to life—whether that’s a Halloween themed ghoulish adventure, a funny animal story or something entirely your own! Perfect for 8–12-year-olds.
Mike Garley has written for Adventure Time, Wallace and Gromit, and Image Comics’ 24 Panels anthology, as well as creator-owned projects The K*ll Screen, Samurai Slasher, and Our Final Halloween. He also lectures on Creative Writing for Brockenhurst College, and Scriptwriting for Film and TV at the Arts University Bournemouth and Bournemouth University.
