What is the GrizFest?
The GrizFest is a community activity for children in Seaton town with a 4-kilometre running race (Junior Grizzly) for ages 11 to 16 years old, a 2-kilometre race (Junior Cub) for over 8s, and a 2-kilometre Fun Run open to all ages. It traditionally takes place on the Saturday of the Grizzly weekend and in common with the Grizzly is a non-profit event; profits are donated to mainly, local charities. This is an afternoon event, which is open to up to 400 runners wishing to take part in any of the events.
The Course
Start Finish: The Esplanade which will be completely closed to traffic during the whole race.
Running Surface:
Mostly tarmac roads, with two short sections pebble beach, and an uneven surface through the yacht club. It is recommended runners wear appropriate footwear and should be prepared for cold and/or wet weather.
Spectators:
Typically, 300 spectators attend to watch the runners from key points in Seaton.
Medical Support:
Two paramedics are provided at the start/finish line on the Esplanade.
Grizfest 2026
Date: Saturday 7th March 2026.
Race Permit: No. 26/0044 issued by The Association of Running Clubs (ARC).
Entry Fee: FREE via online registration with Race Nation.
Registration: via GrizFest 2026 – RaceNation ONLY.

Online Waiting List will be available, place not guaranteed until confirmation email received from organisers.
Race Number Collection: Saturday 10:00-13:15 from Grizzly HQ at The Gateway Theatre on Fore Street for Race Nation registered runners. There will be NO ON THE DAY ENTRIES.
Medals: All finishers get the new GrizFest medal!

14:00: Junior Grizzly (11-16 year olds)
14:30: Junior Cub (8-11 year olds)
15:00: Fun Run (under 8s, Under 5s must run with an adult)
