This workshop is designed for beginners, providing foundation in contemporary dance technique. Starting with a gentle warm-up to activate and prepare the body, you’ll engage in a series of exercises aimed at improving alignment, balance, and stability.
Throughout the session, we’ll explore foot and leg movements, working on both parallel and turned-out positions, as well as single-leg and two-leg exercises. This will help you build strength and awareness from the ground up. We’ll also dive into spinal work, including flexions, rotations, and extensions to enhance mobility and flexibility.
The class also emphasizes musicality, encouraging you to experiment with various dynamics influenced by different music styles. You'll have the opportunity to practice jumps, floorwork, and the use of space, all while connecting the skills learned in class.
We’ll conclude with a choreographic phrase that combines all the concepts covered.
