Join us for a day of foraging and fun as we continue our exciting and informative Wilderness Skills Series!
Learning how to identify wild edibles is a useful skill that every outdoor explorer should have, and childhood is a great time to introduce foraging as kids are naturally curious about the world around them.
Each participating child will receive supplies they can use during the event and take with them to continue practicing their new wilderness skill at home. We'll discuss the usefulness of various wild edibles, how to identify these plants, ways they can be consumed, and safety precautions to take along the way. Then we'll take time to explore and see which of these foods we can find to try out!
***There is a $10 fee for each participating child to cover the cost of supplies, and a limited number of spots are available. Though all ages are welcome, our recommended age is 6 and up for this event as kids will need to be able to pay attention and adhere to all safety guidelines. Also, please be aware that common allergens such as nuts may be encountered during this event.
