This time of year is a highlight on the forager's calendar. The woods are full of shoots, leaves, fungi, flowers, and sap that can provide nutritious food and potent medicine. Join us to explore these wild edibles and their many uses. The course includes:
✨An introduction to the practice of foraging and its core principles
✨A hands-on introduction to plant and fungi ID skills, using all the senses
✨Methods of gathering and preparing wild foods
✨ Wild fermentation techniques
✨How to sustainably tap for birch sap
✨Folklore & history
✨Nutritional & medicinal benefits of the plants and fungi we find
✨An introduction to core bushcraft skills including an ancient fire lighting technique
✨Wild food samples to try along the way
✨A cook-up over the campfire
Take some time away from the busy day-to-day and connect with your wild side in a secluded ancient woodland close to Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire.
