A year looking for Kingfishers

A chance sighting of a kingfisher on a dog walk sparked a year-long quest to photograph this stunning bird. Along the way Steve Midgley our speaker tonight, discovered incredible wildlife close to home — from falcons and foxes to otters and stags — and taught himself photography through plenty of highs and lows.
