About the event

Jesus in the Jewish Festivals
OAKWOOD FELLOWSHIP AT 2215 58TH IN LUBBOCK WILL BE HOSTING A SPECIAL EVENT ON OCTOBER 8TH AT 6:30PM. The Oakwood Men of God are providing the meat and we ask everyone who can to being side dishes and or deserts. We will gather in Overton Hall!
****Some 2,000 years ago, the Messiah Jesus said, “if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me” (John 5:46). Where does the Law of Moes speak of Jesus? Some of the key scriptures that point us to Jesus are the passages that describe the feasts that God gave to the people of Israel. Every one of the feasts is an uncanny portrait of who Jesus is, what He’s done for us when He died for our sins and rose from the dead, and what He’ll do when He returns. Three of those feasts are Yom Teruah or Rosh Hashana, the traditional Jewish New Year; Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement; and Sukkot or the festival of Booths. Those three special times of the year point remarkably to the ministry of John the Baptist who called us to repent, to the finished work of atonement that Yeshua (Jesus) accomplished for us through His death and resurrection, and to His soon return when He’ll establish His kingdom over all the earth. Join Avi Snyder, the European Ambassador of Jews for Jesus, for a dinner and service at Oakwood Wesleyan Fellowship on Wednesday, October 8, at 6:30 PM. Avi will explain why Jesus said, “these are they which speak of Me,” and why the Apostle Paul said that the Law was given, not to save, but to lead us to the Savior.
WE HOPE TO SEE YOU ON WEDNESDAY!
