Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains announced this year's chefs for the annual Desserts First fundraising event. Local chefs create Girl Scout Cookie inspired desserts in a competition to determine who is the ultimate cookie dessert creator.
The event takes place at the Frazier Alumni Pavilion on the campus of Texas Tech University on Tuesday, September 30.
This year's featured chefs are:

• Monica Gonzales, Desert Rose*
• Cassidy Fulks, Cassidy’s Cake Fork*
• Casey Jones, The Willows
• Mandy Popejoy, My Sweet Temptations*
• Roderick Hollins, Fresh Start Kitchens
• Angela Nash-Blackwell, Nashwell Café

This signature event features an evening filled with desserts, light hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction, and much more. All funds raised from Desserts First directly impact the work of Girl Scouts in the Lubbock area by providing leadership and educational opportunities to Girl Scouts in kindergarten through 12th grade. These programs are essential in making a difference not only in the lives of Girl Scouts but also in the lives of Girl Scouts' families, friends and their local community who are impacted by their leadership.
