Greater Lovell Land Trust and Hobbs Library present this hands-on workshop taught by local floral expert, Shana Sessler. This is a free workshop and all materials will be provided.
Topics covered include:
- Extending the life of your blooms: proper conditioning techniques, including optimal water temperatures, alternative additives to those little sugar packets, and the 'science' behind cutting a stem.
- Discussing how to select the right flower varieties for different aesthetics, effectively using various types of vases to enhance your design, and incorporating natural accents from your surroundings.
- Explore current trends versus classic design principles, ensuring all can create arrangements that suit their personal style and budget.
- How to elevate a simple grocery store bouquet.
At the end of the class, you’ll be able to take home your own custom bouquet!
About the Instructor:
Shana Sessler has dedicated two decades to the floral industry. She began processing flowers in 2005 and worked her way up through various roles, including production management, buying, leading design teams, and wholesale sales. Shana’s journey has taken her from trade shows sourcing in Paris from top vendors in Asia, Europe, and the America's, to visiting flower farms across America, South America, and the Netherlands, and even to the Aalsmeer flower auction – the largest in the world.
