The start and finish are at The Griffin Pub, Main Street, Swithland - Please be considerate to park on Main Street, Swithland as The Griffin Pub car park is for patrons.
There is ample, free on street car parking and it's not a massively busy route so we should be good.
I will reccy the walk during the coming days, but I know this route like the back of my hand and it's a little beauty.
Some things to note....(comprehensive notes will be provided after the reccy)....
- Well behaved dogs are more than welcome - just be aware that there are some sections where they may need to be on a lead (especially thru' Bradgate Park). From what I remember, there are normally fluids for dogs at Bradgate Park main toilets, but this may be the only place until we get back to The Griffin.
- There may be a couple of stiles, but I believe most of them are 'kssing gates' and the whole route should be nice and dry under foot and there aren't many places which hold water from what I remember on this route.
- There may be some cattle in one of the fields we pass, but they are normally well away from our path and they are very used to walkers.
- There are two toilet stops - both in Bradgate Park (Hunts Hill & in the centre of Bradgate Park)
- We will stop for a little break at the top of Beacon Hill to take on fluids and gather our breath.
- The route can be rather exposed to the Sun, so please protect yourselves with a hat, sunscreen and plenty of fluids.
- We will reward ourselves with a nice drink at The Griffin and I will endeavour to ask them to reserve a table for X amount when I know how many people are joining us and who would want to stop for a refreshment.
- When I think of anything else, or have more information from my reccy, I'll let you know. I'll publish pictures of this walk and my Strava for your information.
- I hope this is useful and look forward seeing some of you lovely people again :)
