This is an obstacle based competition. 15 obstacles will be on course. They will be judged and awarded points based on horsemanship (0-10). 150 available points. While it is not a timed event, an allotted time will be given per rider on course. Any obstacle not completed before that time, will receive a score of 0. Obstacles will be harder in the open division. Course maps will be available at least one week in advance. Obstacles will be of the type you would find on a working ranch (drags, bridges, tarps, gates, water, etc) but NOT your average obstacles. This event is meant to challenge horse and rider. This event will include cattle. You will NOT be asked to rope live cattle, but you will be asked to go in with live cattle.
In the event of a tie, the judge will determine an appropriate tie breaker.
Attire: Western attire, button up shirt, jeans and boots. Chaps are not necessary, but appreciated. Hat or helmet.
Clean working tack.
Divisions:
YOUTH- Under 18 at time of event
GREEN - Either green rider, being in their first year of competing in events or green horse, 4 yrs of age or younger.
AMATUER- One who does not take monetary compensation for professional services in the equine industry. (Lessons, training, clinics)
PRIME TIME- Anyone over the age of 55+ may enter.
OPEN- Open to anyone
(May cross enter applicable divisions)
