Voices That Endure: Honoring Ellen Endo & Gwen Muranaka for a Legacy of Community Journalism
Join us for a special tribute dinner celebrating the enduring contributions of Ellen Endo and Gwen Muranaka, two trailblazing journalists whose decades of work at the Rafu Shimpo have shaped, preserved and amplified the voice of the Japanese American community. As both recently departed the storied newspaper, this evening will recognize their unparalleled dedication to community-based reporting, cultural storytelling and advocacy through journalism.
Held in the heart of Little Tokyo -- a community they've faithfully chronicled -- this gathering will also highlight the vital role of ethnic community journalism in maintaining cultural identity, fostering civic engagement and telling stories that too often go untold.
The evening will feature a buffet dinner catered by Cherrystones and a musical performance by June Kuramoto, the renowned koto artist. Susan Hirasuna, FOX 11 anchor/reporter, will emcee the festivities.
Also check out other Arts events in Los Angeles, Trips & Adventurous Activities in Los Angeles.
