This four-hour course returns to the classical roots of Chinese medicine to explore how the earliest understandings of wind and cold laid the groundwork for our approach to pathology, physiology, and the body’s defensive qi.
Drawing from the Huang Di Nei Jing Su Wen, where it is written “wind is the leader of a hundred diseases,” we’ll examine how these foundational concepts continue to shape our diagnostic thinking and treatment decisions today.
We will look closely at assessing the strength of a patient’s wei qi versus the strength of an invading pathological factor, how to recognize when disease is moving, stuck, or becoming latent, and how improper treatment can inadvertently drive pathology deeper.
Grounded in the teachings of Dr. and Master Jeffrey Yuen, this course is designed to deepen diagnostic clarity and give practitioners a more nuanced understanding of what’s unfolding in their patients—looking beyond the modern TCM idea of “wind-cold” as merely a respiratory infection—and applying these classical insights directly in clinical practice.
