“The greening of the church” is an age-old tradition of people coming together to decorate the church during the Advent season. The color green speaks of the power of life and a movement toward healing and wholeness together with the hope and joy of the season.
In the past, our Altar Guild has gotten to have all the decorating fun: placing the poinsettias, putting up the Christmas tree, hanging decorations on the sconces, etc. This year we’re starting a new tradition: on December 6 all are warmly invited to join in decorating our beautiful sanctuary for Advent. Folks from the Altar Guild and the Around the Table committee will guide the work; team leaders will help keep everyone on track.
If you are able, please bring something to share on our refreshment table in the Learning Center. Contributions of savory snacks, Christmas cookies, and beverages will make the event merrier!
All are welcome to donate a Christmas ornament from your collection to adorn our tree.
We look forward to creating this new Foothills tradition with you.
