Our organization is well known for creating memorable race experiences for our participants. We hold three races annually, The Spring Race Half-Marathon, The Firecracker Race and the 12ks of Christmas. RACE INFO: Dress up in your favorite Christmas costume, ugly sweater, Santa Claus outfit or come dressed as your favorite Christmas movie character (prize for best costume) and join us Saturday, December 13th for our 8th Annual 12Ks of Christmas 12K/5K Race & Fun Run & Walk at Leatherwood Park in Lore City, Ohio. This event is meant to showcase the Great Guernsey Trail, while helping to collect new unwrapped toys that will be donated to the Guernsey County Secret Santa. Individuals that bring a toy will be entered into a chance to win gift cards or cash. The event will be a bib timed race with timing services provided by Muskingum Multi-Sports.
Proceeds raised at this event will support the Guernsey County Community Development Corp., a local 501(c)3 non-profit committed to our community’s quality of life. By providing recreational, educational and employment opportunities for our area residents, the CDC is helping to make Guernsey County a great place to live and work! Race COURSE: The 12K & 5K Race and Fun Run are out and back events held entirely on the paved Great Guernsey Trail. The route starts in Lore City and follows the trail to each turn around and then returns to Lore City. This is a scenic, traffic free route that follows Leatherwood Creek. There will be water at the turnarounds and finish lines. Food will be provided at the finish line as well as hot chocolate and warming stations.
AWARDS: Trophies will be given to the top three overall finishers in each race and medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each of the following age categories: 14-under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ Walkers are welcome! Finisher’s medals will be awarded to ALL participants.
EARLY PACKET PICK-UP & RACE DAY REGISTRATION: Race Day registration and Packet pick-up will be at Leatherwood Park– 204 Main St. Lore City, Ohio - starting at 7:30am
RACE PACKETS & FINISH LINE PERKS: Your race packet will include a t-shirt with race logo, logo sticker and more. All participants registered by November 28th will receive a T-shirt. If you send in a check, please make sure it is mailed out in 5 days advance before the 28th.
