The Dances of Universal Peace are a transformative spiritual practice rooted in the celebration of all the world’s wisdom traditions to inspire harmony and peace within ourselves and our communities. Simple and inclusive, all are welcomed into the circle to hold hands in an embodied prayer of Unity and Peace. No experience is necessary as everything is taught in the moment. Together we sing and dance in an atmosphere of authenticity, compassion and kindness to dissolve separation, explore our interconnectedness with Creation and all humanity, inspiring a deeper understanding of ourselves and our place and purpose in the world. Once a touring singer/songwriter with two original folk albums, Jennifer Friedman is a beloved leader and mentor in the DUP tradition. With a down-to-earth, warm and welcoming style, she has led the thriving Longmont and Lafayette, CO DUP Circles for 17 years and leads Dances and sacred singing at retreats and festivals throughout North America, Mexico and Colombia, South America. She serves as Executive Director for DUP North America and is a part-time interfaith hospital chaplain at 2 Northern CO hospitals. Jen was hit by the proverbial thunderbolt in a Dance circle with her mentor Bernie at a music festival she was performing folk music at some 20 years ago and she has been on a profound path of spiritual transformation and sacred service ever since.
