Born during WWII in the Netherlands under the shadow of her father’s Nazi SS past, Andrea van de Loo experienced profound childhood trauma that would shape decades of her life. Despite these devastating beginnings, she embarked on an extraordinary journey of healing and self-discovery that took her from the spiritual communities of India to Santa Cruz, California, where she became a healer herself. Now 83, Andrea has transformed her pain into wisdom and hope for others facing their own darkness.
The Pressing Stones: The Healing Journey of a Nazi’s Daughter chronicles eighty years of Andrea’s remarkable life, exploring themes of family trauma, spirituality, addiction recovery, and the generational impacts of war. Through deeply personal storytelling, Andrea demonstrates that it’s possible to overcome even the darkest traumas and find healing, peace, and a life devoted to serving others. Her memoir offers both an intimate portrait of spiritual community life in India and a timely message about resilience, compassion, and the power of facing our deepest wounds with courage.
Andrea’s book will be available for purchase at the event, and she will be signing copies after her presentation.
