WASSAIL!! 2026

The Wassail is an ancient custom of visiting orchards to encourage a bountiful crop in the year ahead, with music and revelry. Last year was so fantastic we had a mast year of apples!
The New Ash Green Wassail will take place on 10th January 2026, hosted by the Woodlands Group.
The event will begin at 4pm in the Village Hall, with music by Dribbles of Brandy and dancing from West Hill Morris and St Clements Clogs. Food, drink and of course Mulled Cider!
A children's Wassail Hat Parade with rewards will take place in the village hall (so do bring home-made hats!)
As darkness falls we begin our torchlit procession to the orchard, where we continue our merrymaking. Our celebration will end at 6:30.
This is an event for all, young and old. So join us in song, bring bells, instruments or something noisy and silly hats are encouraged, to keep off the winter chill.
