Hiking for Beginners Course - Long Pond, PA

Are you interested in hiking, but unsure how or where to start? Are you intimidated to hike by yourself, but can't find anyone that will go with you? If this sounds like you, join Sandcut Outdoors on Saturday, September 27, 2025, to learn the basics of hiking and to gain the confidence necessary to hit the trails by yourself, or to learn where to find other like minded people. This class will be held at TNC's Hauser Nature Center, 1567 Long Pond Road, Long Pond, PA, and will cover the fundamentals of hiking, including footwear selection, basic map reading, clothing and gear selection, personal safety, locating and selecting trails, and much more. This class will run from
9 am to approximately 3 pm and is open to everyone ages 12 to adult. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. The cost is $25/person, cash only. Registration is required to reserve a seat and will close at 8 pm on September 21. Space is limited.
