This August, we present a very-special Family & Friends listening session of Anderson .Paak's 2016 album 'Malibu'. Following his standout contributions to Dr. Dre’s Compton, Malibu marked .Paak’s breakthrough with a genre-defining blend of Funk, Soul, R&B, Hip-Hop, Gospel, and Jazz. Collaborating with iconic producers like Madlib, 9th Wonder, Kaytranada, & DJ Khalil to name a few. Critically acclaimed, Malibu earned a Grammy nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album and remains a west coast classic. We’ll be experiencing it front-to-back on our Hi-Fi sound system at the peak of the evening.
To open the night, we are welcoming our good friend & vinyl club member Like, a three-time Grammy-nominated producer and founder of Pac Div, who produced the track "Room in Here" on 'Malibu'. Spinning some R&B, Soul, and Hip-Hop from his deep collection.
Next, we are bringing in the legendary Eddie Mac, where he will be spinning some selections from his personal vinyl-collection. Eddie, the founder of Mac Agency and DJ, helped inspire Anderson .Paak’s love for DJ'ing on vinyl. Now, he serves as the Vinyl Curator & Tech for DJ Pee Wee. Where they are taking the world by storm one record at a time.
Lastly, DJ Bike Tyson (AKA Kelsey Gonzales) Bassist of The Free Nationals will close out the night with a selection of records he has picked up traveling the world.
This is an intimate listening session, there will be a limited amount of tickets available to the public.
