The Poetry Lounge - December

We're so glad you have found us.

How does The Poetry Lounge work?

The night runs from 7:30pm until around 10pm in The Belle Starr Lounge at London's finest pub The Boogaloo (312 Archway Rd, Highgate, N6 5AT). Please note that the venue is fully step free with the best access route is via the right side entrance of the pub.

Most of the night is an open mic space, with slots available for poets to share their work. Each slot is 5 minutes. If you'd like to perform please choose an 'open mic perfomer' ticket at the check out. We would like to hear from new and experienced writers and performers. If it's your first time performing anywhere, we will make sure you feel supported!

Of equal importance to poets, are people who listen! Aka our audience. If you're joining to listen please select an 'audience' ticket at the check out.

Saving the best 'til last, the final section of the evening will bear witness to our monthly limerick slam. Expect fun, filth and everything in-between. October 2nd (the following day) is National Poetry Day - the biggest mass celebration of poetry in the UK - and the theme this year is PLAY. So expect a PLAY themed limerick prompt in honour. (More details to follow on the night...)
